On 15th January, 2019, the holy Makara Sankaranti day and Pongal Festival day, Makkal TV will telecast a one-hour programme from 7.00 a.m to 8.00 a.m on the Valampuri Sangu Pooja, recently conducted in our temple on 19th, 20th and 21st December, 2018. As devotees may recall, this unique pooja, revealed by Annai Adhi Parasakthi and conducted according to Siddha Aagama Vidhi (rules and instructions) was a grand three-day event, with 108 numbers of Valampuri Sangu. A ‘Valampuri Sangu’ (Dakshinavarti Sankha or Sinistral conch shell) is a special type of shell which is considered sacred to the Goddess Mahalakshmi and used in worship.
