He wanted to meet the Delhi ruler to acquire some land for his mutt construction at Kasi. He wished to speak with the Delhi ruler in his mother tongue and thus he sought the blessings of Goddess Kalaimagal by singing Sagalakalaavalli Maalai. It is stated in the history of Kumaraguruparar (Kumaraguruparar charithiram) that he received the knowledge of the Urdu language as a blessing from Goddess Gnanadevi, acquired the land and funds from the Delhi ruler who was awestruck by his wisdom.

Likewise, by sincerely and sole heartedly mediating upon goddess Gnanadevi, one can get the knowledge required to find the way out of their problems with her blessings.

Without the use of any modern laboratories, the 18 Siddhars were able to understand herbal medicine, alchemy, yogic force and sacred chants through transcended meditation with the blessings of Goddess Gnanadevi.

People commonly work in a certain profession although they learn many skills. But only few people shine in their professions and skills. This is attained by their sincerity and dedication.

To excel in our education, profession, spiritual and yogic quest, we need the blessings of Goddess Gnanadevi.

Goddess Gnanadevi is situated in the mediation hall inside the temple premises. The mediation hall is constructed according to the Siddha construction traditions (Siddhaagama vidhi) which helps the devotees to quickly reach the meditative state.

We request the devotees visiting the temple to seek the blessings of goddess Gnanadevi by meditating upon her at the meditation hall, for growth and excellence. Students can excel in studies, professionals can perform well in their careers, seek a bright future and gain good thoughts by doing so.

NOTE: Devotees are requested to sit on Holy grass mat (Dharbai pull paai) or a clean cloth in an erect posture with neck and spine in straight alignment and meditate.

The prayers of the devotees who visit the temple and pray to the almighty are fulfilled with her blessings. Some prayers are answered in short span of time however, some are delayed.

It is believed that the duration of the prayer depends on the severity of the problem. One must pray for longer durations (a minimum of 48 days together) to achieve extraordinary benefits in the form of blessings.

Those who cannot visit the temple for 48 continuous days, can visit the temple on a convenient day and light 48 ghee lamps (equivalent to visiting 48 days) and 1 ghee lamp for Lord Ganesha (lit from the Aganda Deepam – perpetual spiritual lamp) with full faith and sincerity.
