It is a common practice to treat diseases with medicines or surgical procedures. However, a lot of us would have experienced that when these medical practices are combined with God’s blessings, the healing process gets a boost. It is difficult to cure a life-threatening ailment which is the result of our sins. Doctors term such ailments as terminal diseases and encourage us to trust in God.

According to the Siddha discipline, our human physiology is controlled mainly by 3 main nerve channels called Naadigal (Vaadham, Pittam and Silaethumam), which in turn control the other 96 major naadigal and so on. Any imbalances in these naadigal results in diseases and their intensity depends upon the level of the imbalance.

There are two other naadigal (Amritha naadi and Nachu Naadi) in the human body which give life to the above mentioned 3 major naadigal. The Natchu naadi (meaning poison) is enhanced, when a person runs through a troubled phase of life, and the Amritham nerve channel becomes weak. This results in the rejection of any medical treatment against the diseases by the human body. This is when doctors tell us that the body doesn’t respond to the treatment.

However, with God’s grace one can sail through this bad phase of life. The Devine grace will enhance the Amritha naadi (Meaning Nectar) and suppress the force of the Natchu Naadi. This in turn enables the body to respond positively to the medical treatment. Siddhas in their sonnets have described about sacred chants that are to be recited seeking God’s blessing to cure humans who are suffering from life threatening diseases during their bad phase of life.Gorakkar Siddhar in his sonnets (under the title Mritunjaya Mantra) has explained in detail about various Yagnas and associated sacred chants that are to be followed and recited to increase the strength of the Amirtha naadi and live a healthy life. This sacred chant which was originally given by Lord Shiva to Goddess Parvathi, was in turn passed on to the Siddhars by Lord Nandhi. Finally, this sacred chant has been passed on to us in a simple and effective manner by Gorakkar Siddhar. The Oushadha Yagna performed in our Temple as illustrated by Gorakkar Siddhar was delivered to us through the voice of the Divine Mother. Devotees who perform this Yagna in our Temple are sure to be cured of all health-related ailments.
