Siddhar Sattainaadhar

He liked to stay away from others. He used to transform himself into a snake and hide in tree trunks or small caves. He was an authority on ‘Vasi Yoga’. After testing the ‘Nadis’ he could diagnose and prescribe siddha medicines. By reading the pulse he could describe the problems in a human body. He used to inundate himself in the elixir of the full moon every month. He was well versed in the use of ‘Sanjeevi’ (life giving) herbs. He had the ability to bring back life into a dead body with these herbs. Preferred to stay at the top of high cliffs and never accepted disciples easily. With his blessings one can learn about the life saving herbs, become an expert in ‘Nadi’ treatment; yoga students can learn ‘Vasi Yoga’.

Speciality

Sattainathar, a great Siddhar, transformed his entire body into a Gnana Oli (Light of wisdom) through his yogic prowess. Through his eternal yogic meditation he is capable of removing all types of sufferings. Worshipping him on Tuesdays at the Pallikaranai Sakthi temple, one is relieved from all types of sufferings caused through black magic, sorcery, witchcraft etc. Sattainathar also blesses his devotees with Mantric arts and protects them from Raghu-kethu Dhoshams.

Benefits of Worship

Praying Sattainathar for 12 to 18 Tuesdays (at our temple) will provide:

  • Relief from witch-craft or black-magic cast against you
  • Expertise in Mantric arts
  • Relief from Rahu and Kethu doshas

How to Worship

According to the instructions revealed in Annai’s Arul Vaakku, devotees seeking the blessings of Siddhar Sattainaadhar must visit the temple on Tuesdays, for 12 to 18 weeks.

During each visit, they must begin their worship by lighting five ghee lamps from the Akandha Jyothi burning in the Annai Mandhira Paavai Mahamandapam and performing an Archanai to Annai Mandhira Paavai.

After completing these rituals, they must sit in front of the sanctum of Annai Mandhira Paavai and the 18 Siddhas and recite the 108 Siddhar Potrigal, paying special attention to the chant(s) for Sattainaadhar Siddhar given below. After reciting the 108 Siddhar Pottrigal, they must pray to Siddhar Sattainaadhar for ten minutes with closed eyes in a meditative pose.

The ghee lamps, archana tickets and copies of the 108 Siddhar Pottrigal may be purchased from the temple office.

There is no other fee for performing this worship of Siddhar Sattainaadhar at the temple.

Other ways to worship

In addition to the above worship on a specific day, we recommend that devotees continue visiting and praying to the Siddhars at the temple on full-moon (Pournami) and new-moon (Amaavaasai) days as this is believed to enhance the results.

Optionally, during this 18-week worship period, the devotees may sponsor the Siddhar Malar Malai which is offered on all full-moon days.

On completing this 18-week worship, devotees will start to observe positive changes in their lives with the blessings of Siddhar Sattainaadhar.  We encourage devotees who have received the intended results of their worship to sponsor the Pournami Annadhanam at our temple as a mark of thanksgiving to Siddhar Sattainaadhar; nearly 3000 people are fed on each Pournami day.
